Perry L Williams

PERRY 1.jpg

 Retired Professional Football Player

2 time Superbowl Winner with the New York Giants

Athletic Background

At North Carolina State University, Perry distinguished himself both on the football field and track.

Among the many honors bestowed on him, Perry was named an NCAA All-American and All-ACC in Football, as well as in Track, where perhaps his greatest personal and team accomplishment occurred in 1982, when he became a two-time World Record Holder; individually, in the 200 Meter event; and as team member of the ACC Champion 4x1 & 4x2 100 Meter events.

Drafted by the New York Football Giants in 1983, Perry became an unsung hero and team leader on one of the most storied and dynamic defenses to ever play in National Football League (NFL) history, where he played Right Cornerback for eleven (11) seasons (1983-1994), culminating in the ultimate team achievement - the winning of Super Bowls XXI (1986-87) and XXV (1990-91).  During his 11 seasons Perry received NFL All-Pro and All-Rookie Team honors; he won the NFL Fastest Man Competition; and in 1991 he was named to Muscle and Fitness Magazine’s All-Time Best Conditioned Athletes of the NFL.

Poignantly, Perry is first in New York Giants history for consecutive game starts by a defensive back; and third overall in New York Giants team history for consecutive game starts – a testament to Perry’s dedication, consistency and team inspired nickname, P-Rock.
